We met 85 year old Icolyn Smith earlier this year – and what a lovely job it has been telling her story! Icolyn has been cooking a mean roast dinner twice a week for the past 26 years, together with her team of volunteers at the Oxford Community Soup Kitchen. She’s quite rightly been awarded a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service AND an MBE, and is one of the kindest people we have ever had the pleasure to film. For those who depend on her and her wonderful food, she is literally a life saver. Our film is on BBC Inside Out South, 3rd October, 7.30pm
